Luther Way

The Luther Trail is a pilgrimage and hiking trail through the federal states of Bavaria, Hesse, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. In Thuringia, it leads to more than 30 places that are associated with the life and work of the reformer Martin Luther and his comrades-in-arms.

Erfurt and the Protestant Augustinian Monastery are at the centre of the Thuringian Luther Trail.

The Erfurt section of the Thuringian Luther Trail runs for 60 kilometres in four loops from the Old Town to the city limits of Erfurt.

The Erfurt northern route leads from the old town via Johannesstrasse past the Luther Church, on to Stotternheim and Bad Frankenhausen.

On the eastern section, the Luther Trail partly follows the Jacob's Way to Weimar.

The southern route runs from Domplatz towards Hochheim and Möbisburg to Arnstadt.

Our site is conveniently located on the west route. It runs through Michaelisstraße, along the Gera cycle path.
